Volunteer: Golf Course Starter

As the Golf Course Starter, you help play a key role in ensuring a smooth, enjoyable experience for all players starting their round of golf! Starters who volunteer 8 or more hours a week get their greens fees covered and can play for free! 

This volunteer opportunity is for those looking for flexibility and a way to be involved in their local golf community. 

Golf Course Starter Responsibilities

Welcome & Guest Experience

Greet players as they arrive at the first holeOffer assistance and answer questions Create a friendly and welcoming environment 

Tee Time & Pace of Play 

Oversee the flow at the first tee boxEnsure groups are teeing off according to their tee times Pair individual or incomplete groups when appropriate to maintain a good pace of play

Player Briefing 

Provide clear communication to players before their roundCommunicate course rules, etiquette, and pace of play expectationsInform players of any daily updates (cart path only, etc.)

Communication and Coordination

Maintain communication with rangers and pro shop staffReport issues like slow play, on-course incidents, or guest concerns 

First Tee Setup

Ensure scorecards, pencils, and other materials are fully stocked and organized at the first teeKeep the tee area clean, orderly, and presentable
